Antwerp Port Chaplains Represent at ICMA World Conference in Barcelona

Stella Maris port chaplains Fr. Jos Vanhoof, Fr. Edzel Cabañas, Fr. Kiran Joy, and DSM Port Chaplain Rev. Marc Schippers represented Antwerp at the ICMA World Conference 2025 in Barcelona from 6–9 October.
ICMA (International Christian Maritime Association) is a global network of Christian maritime welfare organizations dedicated to supporting seafarers, fishers, and their families across the world—making this gathering a key moment of unity and collaboration in maritiem ministry.
With the theme “Navigating Change,” the conference brought together over 250 chaplains and maritime workers from more than 40 countries for prayer, learning, and sharing real experiences from port ministries around the globe.

An important highlight for Stella Maris was the additional formation day held exclusively for Stella Maris chaplains on Friday, where Fr. Kiran Joy and Fr. Edzel Cabanas took part on behalf of Antwerp. This extra day offered deeper reflection, training, and collaboration within our global Stella Maris family.
