A Night of Music, Joy, and Harbour Spirit at the Seafarers’ Club
On Friday evening, 21 November 2025, the Seafarers’ Club at the Antwerp Harbour Hotel came alive with warmth, music, and togetherness as Stella Maris joined the wider Antwerp Seafarers Welfare community for a Musical Evening in honour of our seafarers.
What began as a simple idea—to unwind together at the end of the week—blossomed into a night filled with laughter, friendship, and the unmistakable spirit of our port community.
Music That Brought Everyone Together
From 19:30 to 22:30, the hall filled with the sounds of guitars, familiar melodies, and enthusiastic applause as our very own Chaplains’ Band took the stage. Their blend of country, pop, Bollywood classics, and lively sing-along favourites set the tone for an evening where no one felt like a stranger.
Open Mic and Karaoke
One of the most memorable parts of the night was the Open Mic and Karaoke segment. Seafarers, volunteers, and friends stepped forward—some shyly, some boldly—to share a song from home or a favourite tune that reminded them of loved ones.
The room echoed with English ballads, Filipino love songs, Indian Bollywood hits, and even a few spontaneous duets. It was a reminder that music transcends language, culture, and distance—much like life at sea.
A Place to Relax and Belong
Throughout the night, the bar offered drinks and snacks, but the real nourishment came through shared stories, renewed friendships, and the simple joy of being together. For many seafarers spending long months away from home, moments like these bring comfort and community.
