Valentine’s Night for Seafarers – A Heartfelt Evening at Antwerp Harbour Hotel

On 13 February 2026, the Antwerp Harbour Hotel was filled with music, laughter, and heartfelt moments as seafarers and friends gathered for a very special Valentine’s Night for Seafarers.

Seafarers often miss precious milestones with their loved ones back home—birthdays, anniversaries, and festive celebrations. Valentine’s Day is one of those tender moments spent far from family. This year, however, the celebration came to them.

Music that Touched the Heart

The Chaplains’ Band brought warmth to the evening with a beautiful blend of inspirational songs, nostalgic love melodies, and original compositions. Their music created an atmosphere that was both joyful and reflective—honoring love in all its forms: family love, friendship, and the bonds that unite seafarers across oceans.

The night was more than a concert. It became a shared celebration.

  • The open mic sessions gave participants the chance to dedicate songs and messages to loved ones back home.

  • The karaoke moments filled the hall with laughter and applause as brave voices took to the stage.

  • Spontaneous singalongs turned strangers into friends.

A Special Guest

We were honoured by the presence of the Philippine Honorary Consul in Antwerp, whose attendance added a meaningful international touch to the evening. The visit highlighted the importance of supporting Filipino seafarers—who form a significant part of the global maritime workforce—and affirmed solidarity with all nationalities serving at sea.

Fellowship and Celebration

From 19:30 onwards, the venue buzzed with energy as guests arrived at Noorderlaan 100, 2030 Antwerpen. Snacks and drinks at the bar added to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Conversations flowed easily, new friendships formed, and familiar faces reunited.

More than just an event, the evening became a reminder:
Even when far from home, no one is forgotten.

A Night to Remember

Valentine’s Night for Seafarers 2026 was a celebration of connection, community, and care. It demonstrated once again the mission of Stella Maris and the chaplaincy—to ensure that seafarers feel valued, welcomed, and accompanied during their time in port.

To everyone who came, sang, played, supported, and shared the evening—thank you for making it unforgettable.
